Purpose of the CASFAA Independent Segment Committee

California has over 80 private/independent, non-profit colleges and universities statewide that offer undergraduate, graduate and professional programs.  Each school is unique and diverse in what they have to offer to students. Each school has its own challenges and needs.   CASFAA represents all financial aid administrators in the state including independent schools.

The Independent Segment Representative and Committee seeks to be a voice and advocate for the needs of aid administrators in our segment.

For 2024 our goals are:

  • Determine the barriers to participation in CASFAA by California Independent Colleges and Universities.

  • Determine what Issues Independent schools are facing; find commonality amongst our schools so that CASFAA can better speak to those issues.

  • Create a network of resources and help for our schools.

If you are interested in serving on the Independent Segment Committee or have suggestions for how CASFAA can best serve the needs of aid administrators at independent schools, please contact Brad Soriano at [email protected] or complete the Committee Volunteer Form.
